This rural rolled road base or rolled gravel driveway was built by East West Contracting in Tinbeerwah in the Sunshine coasts hinterland. The original rural driveway suffered severely from rutting or ruts caused by water damage over the years. The new rural driveway was constructed with a clay based road base or gravel and shaped to expel water off the surface as quickly as possible to reduce the amount of damage caused by heavy rainfall in the future. The client liked the fact that this was relatively inexpensive to build and also the natural look of the new rural driveway. East West Contracting used a track loader, water spay unit and roller to construct the driveway. The photos show the poor condition of the driveway before and the finished surface after.
